Vehicles engaged in the transport of both fresh and frozen foodstuffs, use compressed gas refrigeration systems that are designed and manufactured to ensure during the journey, the keeping of the temperature possessed by the product at the time of loading. The refrigeration systems equipped with these vehicles, located in the front of the semi-trailer, are able to provide the necessary cooling power to cancel the thermal flows entering from the outside and the possible heat, produced by the goods when fruit and vegetables are transported.
These vehicles must be manufactured in accordance with EU legislation and are tested for conformity. The thermal conductivity coefficient K of the vechicles body shall be less than 0,4 W/(m2∙K) for the vehicles used as transport of frozen food. To limit the energy consumption required by the system, a K of 0,2 W/(m2∙K) shall be applied. To obtain these values it is necessary to use an excellent thermal insulator such as Corevo panels in XPS, extruded polystyrene boards without skin, which have high characteristics of mechanical strength, reduced water absorption and which, thanks to the grooves on both sides, are suitable for bonding.
The rough surface, equipped with grooves of Corevo Foam and Corevo H, ensure perfect adhesion through the bonding to the different layers that make up the side panels and the floor of the trailer. The grooves, in addition to facilitate the best possible adhesion during bonding, they also allow the release of any air bubbles and the elimination of glue lumps, which affect the aesthetic quality of the finished product. The lightness of the material, combined with the characteristics listed above, make the Corevo panel an insulating board, with unique performance and particularly suitable for this type of application.
The products designed specifically for these needs are: Corevo Foam, Corevo H, Corevo HD.
