Extruded polystyrene is an extremely versatile material and can be worked using different techniques. The most commonly used tools for cutting are: cutters, hand, electric or radial saws, hot or rotating wire cutters and pantographs. Depending on the cutting techniques, pieces can be custom-made and with tolerances even less than a millimeter.
Thanks to the simultaneous movement on several axes of the pantograph, it is possible to obtain all types of three-dimensional shapes, sharp edges and curved lines. The surface of the panel is rough and presents a good homogeneity, so you can glue the pieces together or with other supports. The components are water and steam resistant, so they can be used in humid environments without damaging or deforming. Finally, the good mechanical properties of the insulation material, makes possible to use it even under loads and stresses.
